Responsibilities:

  • Grow our Client's local stormwater market presence through targeted business development efforts, including strengthening key client relationships and active participation in select professional organizations.

  • Partner with Stormwater Leads to develop and execute strategies that support sustained stormwater growth and innovation across the firm.

  • Build and lead a stormwater project delivery team in North Carolina.

  • Manage stormwater planning and detailed design projects, overseeing contract document development (plans and specifications), stormwater analyses, report preparation, and other activities supporting planning, design, and construction services. Projects may include pipe drainage systems, open channels, pump stations, storage and treatment facilities, multi-benefit facilities, and green infrastructure.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams—including engineers, designers, and scientists—to support project delivery.

  • Some travel is required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in Stormwater / Water Resource engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina, or the ability to obtain licensure within six months
  • Proven track record in leading the planning and design of urban stormwater solutions addressing both water quantity and quality challenges.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing teams to deliver planning and design solutions for stormwater management challenges.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with client service and business development efforts, including project positioning, proposal preparation, interviews, and technical presentations
  • Hands-on experience with a range of modeling and design tools, including ICPR (1D/2D), HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-HMS, ICM, FLO-2D, XPSWMM, ArcGIS, and Civil 3D.
  • Skilled in identifying, designing, and optimizing multi-benefit urban stormwater management projects.
  • Familiarity with standard stormwater analysis tools, including HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-HMS, ICM, FLO-2D, XPSWMM, ArcGIS, and Civil 3D.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. (+)
  • Familiarity with FEMA floodplain regulations and submittal of Letters of Map Revision (LOMR) and Conditional Letters of Map Revision (CLOMR) (+)
