Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Real Estate Development with a dotted line to the Director of Real Estate Development, the Senior Project Manager, II Real Estate Development is part of a team charged with the planning, financing, construction and conversion of supportive and affordable housing projects at Breaking Ground. Breaking Ground’s real estate pipeline includes new construction, conversion, and recapitalization of existing projects. The Project Manager will work on multiple aspects of the affordable housing development process, including both assisting the team on the repositioning and recapitalization of several existing projects within the Breaking Ground portfolio as well as assisting the real estate development team analyzing new opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze existing developments within the existing Breaking Ground portfolio and identify opportunities for repositioning and/or recapitalization
Work collaboratively with members of the Real Estate Development team to identify new affordable and supportive housing development opportunities to pursue
Prepare and coordinate funding applications, grant requests, and RFP submissions
Coordinate and review project due diligence during the pre-development process
Represent Breaking Ground in person and various government funder closing calls
Prepare and submit construction requisitions, prepare check request vouchers, and work independently with other departments to ensure the successful planning and implementation of real estate projects
Undertake site visits to perform due diligence work and coordinate consultant access
Monitor and report on project progress for Real Estate Development team
Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in supportive and/or affordable housing, real estate development, or Master’s degree in related field
Familiarity with Federal, State and Local Funding affordable and supportive housing development programs for both capital and rental subsidies.
Problem solver with an ability to work independently
Strong oral and written communication skills are required
Ability to organize, complete, and track multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
