Position Description:

The aim of our banking development team at CGI Montreal is to deliver day-to-day services to investment and corporate banking units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. Our banking development team differentiates itself through the pace of its agile transformation, the spread of a strong technology and data culture, the streamlining of decision-making processes, and the adoption of an industrial approach supported by transversal teams as well as teams aligned with specific business units.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The Development team belongs to the Cross Risk Metrics (XRM) department, which supports and develops tools for the risk function. You will join a team of 4 people responsible for the Volcker Metrics Repository (VMR) application. This application monitors front-office activities worldwide and provides scoring to ensure that activities remain compliant with Volcker and French Banking Law regulations.

The team relies heavily on the Agile framework (Scrum):
• To build a solid and trustworthy relationship with functional partners through continuous and transparent communication.
• To maintain a strong team dynamic focused on delivering value to users and maintaining the application with a long-term vision.
• Although autonomous in your development tasks, you will always have the team's support to continuously improve both functionally and technically. You are also encouraged to share your perspectives and approaches regarding software craftsmanship. Continuous improvement is essential for us.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Your profile for the position:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English, with the ability to adapt communication style to the audience*
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required, as this position involves regular collaboration with colleagues and partners in the United States*.
• University degree in business computing, computer science, or computer engineering
• 7+ years of experience

Functional Improvements
• Implementation of new features (front-end + back-end)
• Reporting of risk indicators aggregated at desk level daily for risk analysts
• Dashboard to monitor readiness of risk indicators over time

Technical skills
• Upgrade from .NET 6 to .NET 9 or 10
• Propose performance improvements (APIs, Entity Framework)
• Leverage the Azure platform to enhance the application
• Excel reports including graphs
• DevOps
• L3 Support
• Pipeline evolution: migration to GitHub Actions, ArgoCD
• Standardization of SonarQube usage

Required Qualifications
• Microsoft Azure | .NET 6 – .NET 9/10 | SpecFlow | Entity Framework | MS SQL 2022 | tSQLt | Kubernetes | Docker | Jenkins | Groovy | OAuth 2.0 | React 18 | TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with Excel file generation, GitHub Actions, Airflow, Python
