THE ROLE

As a Business Analyst – Retail, you’ll support the retail business by analyzing sales, margin, inventory and store performance data to provide clear insights that inform day‑to‑day and longer‑term commercial decisions.

This role plays an important part in supporting convenience retail and multi‑site store networks, with a strong focus on regular reporting, performance tracking and data accuracy. You’ll work closely with Finance, Retail Operations and Supply Chain teams, helping them understand results, identify trends and respond to changes across a fast‑paced retail environment.

It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys working with data day‑to‑day, values accuracy and structure, and wants to build strong foundations in retail and commercial analysis across convenience retail and multi‑site store networks within a large, complex organization.

Main responsibilities:

Retail Performance & Analysis

  • Review and analyze sales, margin and volume performance across convenience retail stores and multi‑site store networks
  • Monitor key retail performance measures such as sales growth, gross margin, stock turns and markdowns
  • Support the identification of trends, risks and performance movements across stores and categories
  • Assist with pricing, promotion and range performance analysis relevant to convenience retail formats

Reporting & Insight Delivery

  • Prepare and maintain regular weekly and monthly retail performance reports
  • Update dashboards and standard reporting packs used by Finance and Retail Operations teams
  • Ensure data is accurate, consistent and clearly presented
  • Help convert performance data into practical insights that support trading and operational discussions

Planning & Forecasting Support

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes for retail operations
  • Assist with variance analysis between actuals, forecasts and budgets
  • Contribute analysis to business cases and retail planning activities

Inventory & Stock Performance

  • Analyze stock levels, availability and inventory productivity across convenience retail stores
  • Support markdown, clearance and sell‑through analysis
  • Work with Supply Chain teams to help improve stock efficiency and working capital outcomes

Collaboration & Ongoing Support

  • Work closely with Retail Operations, Finance and Supply Chain teams to support convenience retail performance
  • Respond to ad‑hoc reporting and analysis requests as business needs arise
  • Support retail initiatives and improvement activities with timely, reliable data

ABOUT YOU

You're comfortable with the core responsibilities of a business analyst, producing regular reports, working with large datasets, and responding to recurring requests, and you're keen to continue building your commercial understanding within a convenience retail and multi‑site store environment.

You'll bring:

  • 1–4 years' experience in a retail, commercial, finance or business analyst role
  • A degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business Analytics or a related field
  • Strong Excel capability, including pivot tables, lookups and basic financial analysis
  • Experience working with recurring reports, dashboards or performance packs
  • Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau (preferred, not essential)
  • An interest in retail performance, store networks and commercial drivers

You don't need to have seen everything before. What matters most is your willingness to learn, your comfort working through data methodically, and your ability to turn numbers into clear, useful insights that support teams across the business.

Bring your analytical skills to a role where your work directly supports retail performance and commercial decision‑making! Join a team where accurate reporting, thoughtful analysis and a strong understanding of convenience retail help shape outcomes across a large, multi‑site store network.
