AWS Solutions Architect – Data Services (Remote)

We are looking to hire a candidate with the skills sets mentioned and experience for one of our clients within the pharmaceutical Industry. This is a Remote position.

Job Summary

We are looking for an AWS Solutions Architect with a strong focus on data services to support production systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, deploying and supporting data platforms on AWS, with a solid understanding of cloud architecture, security, scalability and cost optimization. This role will work closely with production support, engineering, and data teams to ensure reliable and efficient data services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support AWS-based data architectures for production environments
• Support and troubleshoot production data services, ensuring high availability and performance
• Work with AWS services such as S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Athena, Kinesis, and Lambda
• Ensure data pipelines and platforms follow AWS best practices for security, scalability, and reliability
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging for data workloads
• Optimize cloud costs related to data storage, processing, and data pipelines
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, and data engineering teams to resolve production issues
• Document architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, with a focus on data services
• Experience supporting production data platforms on AWS
• Good understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and streaming concepts
• Knowledge of AWS security best practices, IAM, encryption, and networking fundamentals
• Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and logging solutions
  

• Experience with real-time or streaming data (Kinesis, Kafka, MSK)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform)
• Experience working in Agile environments

Other Job Details:

• Location: Remote
• Duration: 12 months with high possibility of extension.
• Pay Rate: $65 on W2 and $70 on C2C.
